Brooklyn Earick Rules Out Tottenham Hotspur Acquisition Offer Post-Initial Contact
The former chairman oversaw Spurs' move to the club's new home in 2019.
US technology mogul Earick has ruled out making a formal takeover bid for Tottenham.
The club had earlier “clearly turned down” an unofficial approach from a investment group spearheaded by the American last month and stated the organization was off the market.
But UK takeover and merger rules stipulated that, after an expression of interest rejected, Earick's consortium were obligated to present a formal offer by late October or announce they would not do so.
Official word of the decision was issued in a announcement released by Spurs to the financial markets, stating the club is “ceased to be in an offer period.”
He posted an snapshot of the statement on online platforms, remarking: “It's been a privilege engaging with Tottenham Hotspur and the owners' agents over the past few months.
“I have deep admiration for the team, its leadership, and its followers, and hope for nothing but success.”
The club's board expressed gratitude to the consortium for its “positive engagement” in talks and for “honoring the firm stance” of the shareholders that the team is not for sale.
Brooklyn Earick is a former DJ who also served in spacecraft research for Nasa before founding Redacted RnD, which focuses on technology, media, sport and leisure.
His approach was the latest inquiry declined by the club's board since the unexpected exit of top executive the former chairman in September.
In early fall, the club turned down approaches from previous club stakeholder the financier's PCP International and a syndicate led by Roger Kennedy and Wing-Fai Ng through Firehawk Holdings.
The former chairman and his family hold about 30% of Enic Sports & Developments Holdings Ltd – which has an nearly 87 percent interest in Spurs.
Levy was the the league's longest-serving chairman and is reported to have earned in excess of fifty million pounds during his long tenure in the position.
However he was also the subject of regular protests by Spurs fans, notably last campaign as Premier League performances were unsatisfactory.
The north London club won their major honor in nearly two decades when they beat United in May's Europa League final.
