Skydance Paramount Set to Remove Nearly 2,000 United States Roles – Report

Skydance Paramount will initiate mass layoffs the week of 27 October, removing nearly 2,000 positions in the United States under a expense reduction strategy valued at $2bn under new chief executive David Ellison.

The layoffs come after the union between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, finalized in August with a value of $8.4bn.

More global layoffs are likely, as the firm aiming to announce complete information via its Q3 financial results set for the 10th of November.

Prior news stated that Paramount was looking to eliminate between 2,000 to 3,000 roles by the beginning of next month.

Until December 2024, the company retained about 18,600 workers on full-time and part-time contracts plus 3,500 project-based staff.

The company has not provided a response regarding the report.
